Making Use Of A Quick Five Minutes Away From Studying

Taking a break is something we all need to do from time to time. The human brain wasn’t made to constantly focus on the same thing, and we need to divert our attention to keep ourselves motivated and with the right amount of energy to get us through the day. And sometimes it’s incredibly annoying how much time we do have to take away! But, by any means, don’t make yourself feel bad about it.

We all need breaks to make sure our heads stay in the game, and there’s no place on Earth where people need more breaks than those of us currently at college. So if you have a quick five minutes on the books right now, take the time to read this post to make sure when the next twenty minutes have passed, you’re going to be spending your free time in exactly the right way!

Leave the Laptop Behind

If you’re studying in the modern-day and age, you’re probably doing so on a computer screen. It’s quick and easy, and means the entire internet is at your disposal. However, when you decide your attention is waning a bit too much and you need a break, try to step away from the screen. You’re going to need to move your body to make sure you’re not stagnating in your seat.

Instead, try to take a walk, either outside or simply around the space you’re in. When you’re using your legs you’re going to have a much better blood flow, you’re going to feel a lot more awake, and you’re going to give your eyes a good rest.

Straining your vision happens very easily when you’re at a desk all day, and that can often lead to needing a pair of glasses. Even just reading a book or looking out of the window instead for a couple of minutes can do a lot for keeping your eyes healthy.

Stretch Yourself Out

Stretching out is another way to get your blood flow going once again, and increasing the amount of oxygen you get to your muscles. And because of that, you’re going to feel a lot more awake when you get out of your chair and do some flexibility moves.

You can also take up yoga in your spare time to help with this, as it doesn’t take much to get used to the stretches Yoga can put you through. It can also improve how well you use your lung capacity, and can make any stress fly straight out of the window.

If you look into something like pranayama, you’re going to be able to stick out for a lot longer on the mat you currently have rolled up in the corner of your room.

Making use of your five-minute breaks you take every now and then is going to do wonders for your physical and mental health. And staying sane can sometimes be difficult when you’re in college!
